In fact, one of the dependencies required to use it is the Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015. Exactly which are in use for what, will vary by not only distro, but even on Debian, particularly how one has it configured (and what one has installed). Even though cmder is advertised as a 'portable terminal emulator for Windows', its not adequately minimalistic to be considered truly portable. See also: console(4) (hmmm, not sure why the English version of that on the online Debian man pages for stable isn't there presently - at least as far as I can easily tell - but in any case, $ man 4 console should provide that information easily enough - and if one isn't finding that man page, it's in the package console-tools. isn't unique to Debian, but common to Linux - at least on relevant hardware and typical configurations - and allows one to switch virtual terminals on the (text or graphics) console (but not serial console, nor network console). The command "exit" is builtin to the shells, and will exit your login shell - including on the console.
